It's been a few weeks and boy has a lot happened. I was VERY busy my final weeks in New York going to rehearsal every day and then preparing myself for five months on the road every evening...and trying to see my boyfriend now and then. I was pretty stressed out as I prepared for this tour. There's just so much to try to remember and keep track of, and I'm in change of it all. But I won't bore you with the details of all that. So far, I'm surviving.
We left New York in the wee hours of last Sunday morning. After missing the GW bridge and taking a scenic drive through upper Manhattan, we finally made it over the Hudson river and were on our way. But about two hours into the drive, our passenger van started having issues getting above 40 mph, so we had to pull off and take about two hours figuring out what was wrong and how to fix it. We took some truckers' advice and got on our way again. The end of the first day's drive landed us in Zanesville, OH (Yes, Sarah Cool we went to that Italian place and got meatballs!). The next day we drove the rest of the way to St. Louis and we've been here ever since.
The show is going well. We're getting used to the daily routine so I think we're about ready to pack it up and start all over again in a new venue. We've all been pretty tired, but have gotten out a few times to take in some local culture. Last night we tried a St. Louis specialty, toasted ravioli. It was pretty yummy. Tomorrow is our day off and I think we're planning on going to see the arch and then going to the City Museum, which I think is similar to CoSi, for all you Ohioans.
Oh, by the way, one of the reasons I haven't updated my blog before now is because the day we got here, my computer started acting up. I took it to a local fix-it shop and found out that is was basically beyond repair. But the shop offered to sell me another computer, an HP notebook. And they said they would transfer all my data, and throw in Office and McAffee. The price? $375. SOLD! And I didn't have to pay for any diagnostic work on my old computer. So, I now have a new
computer that I hope will last more than six months. I really wanted my next computer to brand new from the manufacturer, but this was a deal I couldn't refuse.
